Over the years, I have learned that when you plan an outdoor summer Canmore wedding, you can never predict what the weather will be, even if the wedding is at the end of July. Brandi & Kyle had their hearts set on getting married outside in the Rocky Mountains and insisted that rain or shine, there would be no back up plan. While Brandi was getting ready, she kept a big smile on her face as she watched the storm clouds swirl and the storm intensify... but I could tell the pouring rain was not what they had in mind. When the rain didn't let up, Brandi & Kyle decided to just embrace the rain and bring out all the umbrellas! Despite the wall of water, their ceremony was full of laughter and joy! And of course, the moment it finished, the clouds parted and we had a beautiful sunny afternoon for portraits.
Brandi & Kyle planned enough time for a drive into Banff National Park. And through a mix up with the car rental company, Kyle accidentally got his wish of driving a sports car on his wedding day...even if it was a Mustang. We were able to take portraits at Lake Minnewanka, which really is one of the best spots in the Rockies!
They finished the day with a beautiful dinner reception at Cornerstone Theatre, a beautiful unique venue in Canmore. If you're looking for an awesome spot for a wedding reception in the mountains, make sure you check out this incredible theatre!
Since their ceremony had been so rainy and socked in, I made sure to steal Brandi and Kyle away from their reception at sunset. We snuck them back up to park where they got married and mother nature gave us an incredible sunset!
